That section has been renovated 3rd times in it's history, and last renovation was made by CT Design Studio Ltd in 1999. Exhibition area has been fortified by renovating, crack repairing and structural restorings. Also the ventilation and heating system has been renewed. The project is the first example for the museums designed against potential earthquake in Turkey. Museum's exhibition units are designed considering the BMS (British Museum Standards).
For the exhibition among over 5.000 pieces the most special 564 were displayed. The exhibited pieces rotate periodically each year.
This project was granted the award “ Europe's Best 10 Museum” by the European Museum Union in 2000.
Ataturk's private belongings are being displayed in a 392 square meters Kuva-yi Milliye tower section. Project includes restoration, restitution and exhibition curation.
The display units in the museum are designed accordingly to face a potential earthquake. All the lighting and used materials were chosen considering the BMS (British Museum Standard
